Paul Harris Fellowship

Over and above a Paul Harris Fellowship a Rotary Club can award a Paul Harris Fellowship Sapphire Award. The Rotary Club of Renfrew has only given six sapphire awards in 61 years, with the latest recipients being Lorna Hood in April 2015 and Gary Louttit in June 2016. Lorna is the only one who is not a Rotarian, the others are:

David Atkinson
Mac De Souza
Gary Louttit
Charlie Newlands
Bob Meikle
Eddie Williams

A Rotary Club can honour its members with a Paul Harris Fellowship. It is usually awarded for service to the club over and above what would be expected. Paul Harris Fellow recognition was created in memory of Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary. It has been a practice of many clubs to award Paul Harris Fellowships in appreciation of his or her service to the club or the local, national or international community.
