Rotary one visit – Day 49 of 186

I don’t suppose you were one of the conspirators for my astonishing visit to Rotaryone.

Day 49 of 186

Arrived at the Union League Club in plenty time to check in coats and bags. My guests Mary and Mary Ann (Mary’s Aunt) and were welcomed by the membership and we were made to feel at home. There are about 160 members, and there were 40 – 50 people at the luncheon. 6 visiting Rotarians and 3 guests.
The guest speaker Michael Blair, Former NFL Running Back, and Founder & CEO of Ninety10Sports was inspirational – describing his life choices after life in NFL.
He ended up being brake man in the Jamaican 2 man bobsleigh team!

President Khaled Akkawi invited visiting Rotarians to introduce themselves and when I said my name he said he knew me and hauled me up to the podium. At that point he said there had been mistake and needed to swop my Paul Harris for one with 3 sapphires! Well I was already on cloud 9 just being in Rotary One this was a whole new level of excited.
After club business was complete we exchanged banners.
